Dr. Jang was named Regents Professor of the Texas A&M University System in 2014. He had served as Chemistry Department Head for more than 7 years from 2007 to 2014 at Texas A&M University-Commerce. He has been a PI of various projects funded by NSF, DOE, ARO, etc., including the PI of NSF REU site for more than 10 years. Dr. Jang’s research expertise is in eterogeneous catalysis and non-thermal plasma technology. Since joining Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2001 Dr. Jang has been working on selective hydrogenation & oxidation and
biodiesel & bio-oil synthesis. He currently collaborates with Tianjin University and Dalian University of Technology in China and Oak Ridge National Lab. Before joining academia, Dr. Jang was a project manager at Research Triangle Institute at Research Triangle Park, NC. His experience included reforming, catalytic combustion, NOx reduction, coal gas cleanup, etc.
